And reopening today as Chez Jules, a typical ”brasserie Française”.
I got my hands on the menu. What do you think?
First dish noticed: all-you-can-eat cuisses de grenouilles for 20$, a unique offer in the current greater Quebec City picture. Other dishes like escargot, foie gras, île flottante, pastis-flavoured cocktails and crêpes Suzette also caught my attention.
In the last few years, Pain Beni underwent a complete restaurant makeover including a menu consulting collaboration with one of Quebec’s most internationally recognized talents, Laurent Godbout. Unfortunately, its tourist-friendly location and its reluctance to stand out never quite attracted local attention.
With this menu, I feel as though Chez Jules will bring to the table exactly what the former Pain Béni restaurant needed: exclusive dishes at a reasonable price. Looking forward to testing the waters.
